The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved – loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.

If happiness is what you’re after, you’re gonna be let down frequently and you’re gonna be unhappy much of your time. Joy though, joy is the feeling that we have doing what we are fashioned to do, no matter the outcome.

The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.

If there is another world, when we get there we can make another creed.

Happiness cannot be travel to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

The unhappiest man on earth is the one who has nothing to do.

Happiness and unhappiness are in the heart and spirit of each one of us: If you feel unhappy, then place yourself above that and act so that your happiness does not get to be dependent on anything.

If you’re going to be able to look back on something and laugh about it, you might as well laugh about it now.

A lifetime of happiness? No man alive could bear it; it would be hell on earth.

I have to plan my happiness. That’s the thing, we think happiness just happens and it can, but you’ve got to work in some happiness too.

I think happiness is love.
