The thing the sixties did was to show us the possibilities and the responsibility that we all had. It wasn’t the answer. It just gave us a glimpse of the possibility.

All the boys did real good for their first time out. You couldn’t ask for any better. We’ve got a few bugs to work out, but that’s what this was for. We’re going to keep practicing and get better.

Obviously, [Hollywood is lacking] stories from women of color. If you talk about areas of the industry that are underrepresented, that is an area that the whole industry could stand with getting better at.

Most of the time you’re too busy to think about it. But every now and then you say, ‘I work at ‘Saturday Night Live ‘ and that is so cool.

I’ve been using the fan websites as I was acting it, because they know so much about the books, and it’s really helpful as a resource.

You don’t even realize how much you need Internet, but it really stops you from doing a lot.

You can’t fake listening. It shows.

I like friends who are honest and loyal. They also shouldn’t be afraid to be a kid. I like having fun.

There are so many people who are trying to make it in the music business. It’s a very open business, more open I think than any other area of show business.

We all know what it feels like to be an outcast or a loner or to fall between the cracks. To be the target of gossip or people talking about you, or girls are ganging up on you. One minute, they’re your best friend; the next, they call you on three-way.

Cocaine is God’s way of saying that you’re making too much money.

Never have doubted it, even when the plane crash happened. I wasn’t mad at God. I just knew that there was a reason that I didn’t know about why it happened.

I was making guitars and I was a sheet metal worker and if you ever see sheet metal workers’ hands, you’ve never seen so many cuts in your life.
